Agenda of forthcoming activities in European integration process was in focus of today’s meeting, in light of preparing the EC Opinion on readiness of Montenegro for membership of the EU.

Minister for European Integration Gordana Đurovic: "It is my pleasure, as minister in Montenegrin government, to have an opportunity to address the WTO Ministerial Conference. I am coming from one small European country, the youngest UN member. WTO accession is strategic priority of the Government of Montenegro, which has been confirmed through dynamic accession process since February 2005. In this process, Montenegro has fulfilled all obligations on multilateral level, concluded all timely submitted bilateral, and in that sense, draft Final Working Party Report was prepared on 7 November 2008...

On 15 December 2008 Montenegro submitted its application for accession to the European Union. In July this year, for the purpose of preparation of the Opinion on the capacity of Montenegro to comply with the obligations resulting from membership of the European Union, the European Commission sent to Montenegro the Questionnaire containing over 2000 questions. At the moment, the Montenegrin administration is drafting answers to the European Commissions Questionnaire. Therefore, it is a preparation of a new phase of the process, which has opened a broader road towards Montenegros future membership to the European Union.
